Whittier Elementary School celebrated the birthday of one of the world's most famous children's authors, Dr. Seuss!
Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as "Dr. Seuss", was born on March 2nd, 1904, and passed away on September 24, 1991. He wrote many children's books that are still loved today by students and adults alike, such as "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Lorax".
Thanks to Mrs. Soto and her helpers for putting together such a WONDERFUL assembly! From the 2nd graders reading passages from stories, to the decorations, and even singing "Happy Birthday!", it was a GREAT event, and really reinforced the importance of READING to all of our Whittier students!
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! :)
